My daughter is currently attending public school after homeschooling and the one thing I would like to see is a better math curriculum. I urge those in charge to look at Saxon Math, they have a website and sell to public schools. Many schools on the mainland use Saxon, it’s absoultely the best math program I have ever seen! It’s available from grade K-12, covers all areas of math and would have our students ready for college when they get there. Please check it out and get our children something worth the money we spend.

Multi-grade classrooms would allow for students to take a stake in their own learning objectives. For example, if there were, 10 learning objectives for each grade level, then students in a 7th-8th grade multi-grade classroom could pick 10 of their OWN INTEREST each year. By the end of the 2nd year they will have learned all 20. As we know, we already have multi-age classrooms with some students starting school at 5 and others at 6, and of course, with students that are retained. In multi-grade classrooms the main difference would be the ability for students to CHOOSE WHAT THEY LEARN.
