Education Reform

Education reform occurs at multiple levels. Policies shape the context by establishing education standards, districts enforce practices, school leadership sets the tone for the individual school, and teachers must meet the many demands of their difficult job. Instructional improvement should be a top priority for all involved, as stakeholders consider the best use of public funds to meet the needs of the country and to put students’ interests first. Large-scale change requires the work of educational leaders as well as public will; thus, it is the responsibility of all to be thinking strategically about what can be done to improve the policies and systemic infrastructure that inform education.
